Since they have seen Kimberly McCullough develop into the role of Robin Scorpio Drake on General Hospital, soap opera viewers are most familiar with her. She has had a number of playing appearances in movies and TV shows before becoming a highly successful producer and director. However, that entire successful career almost didn’t happen!
McCullough recently revealed a picture of herself shot when she was just six years old on the set of the cult classic film Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo. “Me at the same age as my son is now,” she said. “On the set of Electric Boogaloo Breakin’ 2 in Michael Chambers’ “Turbo” arms. The unintentional actress was born on this day. Before this, I was a professional dancer.
In the sequel, McCullough is simply credited as Kimberly and Dancer as she’s playing one of the numerous little kids who take breakdancing lessons from the lead characters. And during a scene where Turbo’s friends visit him in the hospital following an accident, she’s as delighted as everyone else when he regains consciousness.
“The director, Sam Firstenberg,” gave me my first line of dialogue on the fly: “C’mon, Turbo’s OK. C’mon.’” McCullough recalled. “We took this photo to commemorate the moment. Thank you, Sam, for changing my life. Thank you, Michael, for celebrating my small victory!”

Shortly after the release of Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo, McCullough was cast as Anna and Robert’s daughter, Robin, on GH in 1985 and viewers watched the talented actress grow up on screen and win two Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Younger Actress in the process.
McCullough went on to appear in roles in primetime series like ONCE AND AGAIN and JOAN OF ARCADIA (which starred fellow GH child star Amber Tamblyn (ex-Emily)) as well as making guest appearances in episodes of shows such as JUDGING AMY, CROSSING JORDAN, FIREFLY, and THE SHIELD.
She then went on to direct episodes of PRETTY LITTLE LIARS, ONE DAY AT A TIME, IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA, and FANTASY ISLAND as well as producing and directing multiple episodes of the Disney+ series HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL: THE MUSICAL: THE SERIES.
