General Hospital has given #Sprina fans some memorable moments the last few months, including the couple’s reunion in Greenland. That’s when Trina literally jumped for joy into Spencer’s arms after discovering that he was alive. Tabyana Ali talked about why she felt safe during that scene.

Tabyana Ali Talks Trusting Her Co-Star

The moment when Spencer popped up alive after the destruction of the Haunted Star brought immense joy to both Trina and his grandmother Laura (Genie Francis). While Laura clasped her hands in gratitude and joy, Trina found herself running towards Spencer. She leaped into his arms and shared a passionate reunion with the man she loves. The moment was so touching that it made the rounds on social media.

General Hospital Leap of Faith

Ali shared some secrets with attendees of a recent General Hospital Convention produced by Creation Entertainment, as to how that memorable moment came about. “It was actually kind of funny,” Ali said. “I didn’t know I was going to do it. [The jump into Spencer’s arms] was not scripted. It was [improvised]. We were just supposed to, like, hug each other. We only did one take [after doing] one practice.”

In rehearsal, Ali says she and Chavez shared a hug. But when it came time to shoot the embrace, Ali was inspired to make the moment more memorable. “I was running [towards him], and I [thought], ‘Wow, if I stop right now and slam into him, I’m going to create a mini-me [impression]!’” Ali said.

Tabyana Ali Does Her Own Stunts

Soap Hub readers know that Chavez recently took to social media to explain how the emotional #Sprina moment occurred, and now, Ali has shared her memories of the event. Ali got the idea to jump up into Chavez’s arms, confident that her scene partner would be there for her. “It just worked,” she says with a smile. “I was thanking God that he’s been working out! I was thanking God [also] that we didn’t fall over like a bunch of pins. It was a big surprise. I had no idea I was going to do it. [Nicholas] had no idea. But it was great. It was very magnetic. I’m very happy with how it turned out.”
