Although General Hospital baddie Nelle Benson may be presumed dead for now (we really hope she is not dead), actress Chloe Lanier is celebrating a major milestone event.
Happy Birthday, Chloe Lanier
That’s because she was born on November 3, 1992, which means that this talented performer turns 31 today! Lanier, who knew she wanted to be an actress since the age of 3, made her performing debut in the 2009 drama film The Effects of Tragedy.
Subsequent parts in other short and feature-length films — including Binding Paper, Bad Karma, and North Blvd — followed, and she also made guest appearances on GCB, Army Wives, NCIS, and Stalker.
In 2015, Lanier portrayed a younger version of Patricia Spencer during two special episodes that aired as part of General Hospital’s 52nd anniversary. Next, she filmed five episodes of Kingdom before being offered another role at GH.
The part of Nelle Benson was written especially for Lanier, and the character’s debut was stalled until production on Kingdom had wrapped. Then, free to rejoin the ABC soap, Lanier debuted on August 8, 2016, and three months later, she won a role in the independent film Gorman.
Lanier remained at GH until August of 2018, earning the 2018 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actress, but chose to exit the series in order to pursue other opportunities.
However, she made guest appearances in October, November, and December of that year. She even returned for an extended period after Nelle was released from jail, determined to win custody of her son, Wiley. As far as we know, she fell from a cliff to her death, but is dead ever really dead on soaps? She was certainly able to haunt her mom, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), and twin Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) some time back, which was a real treat for fans.
