Below Deck’s Barbie Pascual Defends Jill Zarin: ‘Super Fun And Sweet’

When Jill Zarin, a Real Housewives of New York alum, appeared on Below Deck, she came across rather poorly. Treating this mega-yacht like a CVS, Jill wanted her drawers stocked with Tums, toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, Band-Aids, and even Q-Tips. She also hated the shape of her ice and asked for Barbie Pascual, the stew, to switch her cubes out. Meanwhile, the actual primary guest sat back, letting Jill take the reins as the voice of her people.

Morphing into Squidward Tentacles, Jill’s many complaints kept rolling in, ranging from the food, the location of her electrical outlets, and even her desire for chocolates. In her confessional, Barbie admitted “I think [Jill’s] annoying, and … it’s too much. You’re free-loading guests who [are] extremely demanding … I need another stew just for Jill.” She must have had a change of heart though, because Barbie’s clocking back in, standing up for her former guest.

Watching herself back, Barbie realizes that she didn’t come across super well this season. When she appeared on Watch What Happens Live, she admitted this, and she also revealed that she hoped to be a Real Housewives star one day. Andy Cohen chuckled, but now, it seems like Barbie’s not quite done with her hindsight sessions, as she recently took to her now-expired Instagram stories, backtracking on her comments made about Jill. Luckily for us, Page Six kept the receipts.

“You guys. I watched the show back, and I don’t think that Jill was as bad as it looked, and I just wanna also say that there were so many other moments where she was super fun and sweet and nice,” Barbie explained. Barbie also expressed that while Jill was “demanding,” she wasn’t “rude.” Likewise, Jill asked for things that are “actually normal yacht requirements” and her requests made, in hindsight, were “pretty logical.”

Still on the Jill-train, Barbie admits that Jill “was right. She just wanted nugget ice in her Diet Coke, that’s not a big deal.” After realizing that she had run “her [Jill’s] name through the mud,” Barbie’s now saying “I take it back, and she really is not so bad.”

Below Deck continues Mondays at 9/8c on Bravo.
