The newest season of Dancing with the Stars will air on ABC beginning in September. Speculation has run rampant about the celebrities that may challenge themselves in the ballroom for season 33. However, an ex-pro predicts that the ballroom could be popping with major celebrity talent, including a Vanderpump Rules villain.
Cheryl Burke predicts a ‘Vanderpump Rules’ villain will join ‘Dancing with the Stars’
On the heels of Ariana Maddix having a redemptive season 32 of the reality dance competition, former pro Cheryl Burke believes that her Vanderpump Rules ex-beau could be this season’s most controversial DWTS contestant. She shared her thoughts during a discussion for her podcast Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans with Cheryl Burke.
Burke discussed details of how casting directors for DWTS also cast for the television series Traitors. Therefore, she believes this crossover determines whether Tom Sandoval could be wearing a pair of Cuban-heeled dance shoes.
However, Sandoval still needs to be confirmed for the series. The cast for the upcoming season has yet to be officially revealed by production.
What types of celebrities are typically cast on ‘DWTS?’
DWTS typically selects celebrities from several distinct categories. These include reality stars like the cast of Vanderpump Rules, the sports world, musicians and singers, vintage actors, and political figures.
Historically, the series also hits up celebrities who have recently made news. Therefore, it wouldn’t be unlikely to see someone from The Golden Bachelor as part of the cast or celebrities who have triumphed over a deeply personal challenge.
But some DWTS cast members have already confirmed. These include the show’s hosts and judges.
Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and six-time DWTS champion Derek Hough will sit on the coveted panel once again reports Good Housekeeping. They will continue to judge the incoming contestants throughout the season, providing critical commentary in their attempt to further their journey on the show. Also returning are host Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough as co-hosts who will usher in theme nights and other fun events throughout the season.
A definitive answer has not yet been regarding which pros will return for the series’ newest installment. Typically, pros are told in late summer if they are being asked back, so while they may want to return, it’s up to production whether or not they do.
