Farmer Harry and Tess overcame many obstacles – namely, the late arrival of Bronte – to ultimately fall in love during the 2022 season of Farmer Wants a Wife Australia.
“If I’m honest, Tess, I’m in love with you, and I wanna be with you,” the Farmer told Tess in the emotional finale before confirming to audiences during the reunion episode they were still together.
But it hasn’t all been smooth sailing for the couple, with Harry revealing during the last episode that doing long distance had been “difficult” and made him “a little bit anxious.”
“Right now, I’ve been doing all the compromising, and I hope in the future she’ll compromise for me,” he said at the time, adding that the distance “sucks, because it didn’t quite align with what I was thinking.”
“I still call her up every day, call her up on the tractor or something. We do what we can and then we catch up on the weekends when we can.”
Although the early months of their relationship may have had their struggles, the couple went from strength to strength after Harry moved to the Gold Coast to be closer to Tess.
After nine months in the city (which allowed Tess to finish her studies), the pair made the exciting announcement that they were relocating to Far North Queensland.
“Since the show we’ve had some pretty awesome adventures and lifestyle changes and I think that’s brought us closer together,” Tess told our sister site Womans Day.
“We’ve been able to focus on our relationship and grow together a bit. It’s been the most fun time together.”
Whilst the young couple have enjoyed travelling around Australia, they admitted to TV WEEK they would love to move closer to their respective families in Victoria once they start growing their family. In January 2024, Tess announced on Instagram that their QLD chapter had come to an end.
“These years away from home have been filled with new memories, good people, and big achievements,” she explained, before revealing she and Harry would be moving back to Victoria.
“Harry’s family farm is there and so is my family, [so] that would make sense,” Tess previously told TV WEEK. “We’re working towards that, [but] I think we’re both really young at the moment, so we’re just kind of getting experience and having adventures.”
The interview also saw the pair reveal they have started talking about babies and marriage.
“There’s some ‘could look like this’ kind of discussion,” Tess explained. “A day to look forward to.”
“A future with him just looked so exciting, raising kids on a farm. I hope that’s on the cards for us.”
