Big Brother 25 Houseguests Have A “Lack Of Self-Awareness” That’s Harming The Game

The Big Brother 25 cast is exciting to watch in week-to-week episodes, but some viewers are frustrated with their lack of self-awareness in the game.

Big Brother season 25 is rapidly coming to an end, leaving many thinking back on the season and the frustration that’s built up over the lack of self-awareness that the Big Brother 25 houseguests seem to have. Big Brother puts a group of houseguests into complete isolation, locking them away from their friends, family, and technology for months at a time. With so much time on their hands, the houseguests have nothing to do but think about the game and the moves they’re making socially.

Some Big Brother 25 fans find it tremendously frustrating that the houseguests sometimes fail to see beyond themselves. Reddit user Few_Painting4121 shared their thoughts, wondering, “Is there any season [that’s] been this frustrating to watch?” They went on to explain, “Blue has been Jag’s target two weeks in a row & still has complete blind loyalty to him…Felicia clearly doesn’t understand the dynamics…At least America & Cirie are trying.” The awareness in the house may be minimal for some houseguests, but other users were quick to defend the houseguests’ actions. User LanguageAntique9895 explained, “This happens every season. We get to see and know everything. House guests don’t.”

Is Big Brother 25 “Frustrating” To Watch?

While the Big Brother 25 houseguests have made some frustrating moves throughout the game, there has been an interesting element to seeing them choose their next targets. As EnthalpicallyFavored explained, “They are all pretty strategically terrible yet it’s been a fascinating season to watch because of it. I can’t remember a season with this much open sharing.” With a cast choosing to make some interestingly frustrating strategic moves, it makes Big Brother 25 even more interesting to watch for some, while others have checked out completely. Others mark the decline of the season as the Zombie Week twist, like Lupinremusjohn, who shared, “Zombie week really killed this season for me.”

Though Big Brother can be maddening to watch, understanding that the houseguests are only privy to a sliver of the information that viewers have is key to enjoying the game this far in. Early on, houseguests typically operate with a bit more self-awareness, especially having been in the real world more recently. As the numbers dwindle down and paranoia heightens, it’s nearly impossible for them to operate with the amount of self-awareness they’d need in their actual lives. Paranoia is a part of Big Brother, and while some feel it harms the game, others believe it makes Big Brother even more enjoyable.

As Big Brother 25 is moving into its final weeks, the season has been one of the most fascinating to watch in years. While the Big Brother twists may have stopped the game dead in its tracks, the style of gameplay has been a nod to classic Big Brother in many ways. For the final houseguests left standing, the last few weeks of gameplay will be critical, and the level of paranoia will be sky-high. For viewers who are interested in seeing self-aware gameplay, the Big Brother 25 finale on November 9 may be the next time to check in with the houseguests.
