Big Brother star Jonny Regan looked completely different from his stint in the house more than two decades ago.

The former reality star finished as runner-up in season 3 of the juggernaut show, which was presented by Davina McCall, behind winner Kate Lawler, 43.

Unlike some of his fellow housemates, including Alison Hammond and the late Jade Goody, Jonny has stayed mostly away from the limelight since appearing on the then Channel 4 programme.

But he was spotted on a rare outing on Tuesday picking up some groceries at a supermarket in Durham.

It is thought that Jonny has not been in the public eye since Alison, 48, shared a throwback picture with him, Kate and PJ Ellis on Instagram in 2017.

Wearing denim shorts and a yellow sweatshirt, Jonny was seen sporting naturally grey hair which is still styled in the spiky fashion he was known for on Big Brother.

After leaving the show, Jonny quit his job as a firefighter and later got a gig touring the country in musical Boogie Nights and also famously appeared in a string of British Gas adverts as a repairman.

However, Jonny later disappeared from the limelight and began running two photography businesses.

He’s not the only former Big Brother star to reappear of late ahead of the launch of the ITV reboot.

Anna ‘the nun’ Nolan, Helen Adams and Melanie Hill are among the former housemate swho have been spotted out and about in recent months looking very different from their time on the programme.

Big Brother is returning to our screens on Monday after a five-year hiatus with brand new hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best and Marcus Bentley back as narrator.

The show was originally launched on Channel 4 in 2000, before moving to Channel 5 in 2011 and then finishing in 2018.

ITV2 has already committed to two series of the trail-blazing reality show and hinted Celebrity Big Brother will be returning too.

Big Brother: The Launch is airing on ITV1, ITV2 and ITV X at 9pm on October 8.
