The Valley cast member lamented about her issues with Jax Taylor: “I just want to feel appreciated.”

Now that Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright are separated, the latter spouse isn’t holding back when discussing her marital issues.

Brittany, who is appearing alongside her estranged husband on The Valley, opened up about how it feels like she’s parenting both their three-year-old son, Cruz Michael Cauchi, and Jax himself.

Since Brittany announced the couple’s split on an episode of their podcast on February 29, she’s revealed that she is currently living in an Airbnb, and that she was fighting with Jax a lot prior to their breakup.

In a new interview with PEOPLE, she also joked that it now feels like Jax is another person she’s taking care of, in addition to their young son.

“I’m taking care of my toddler, and I’m also taking care of another toddler named Jax Taylor, because I basically do everything for the household,” Brittany said. “I just want to feel appreciated and want to feel wanted by the person that I’m married to.”

While speaking to PEOPLE, Brittany also shared that things got worse in her marriage after filming wrapped on Season 1 of The Valley.

“Whenever we were filming over the summer, we definitely had some blowups,” Brittany said. “But I feel like we got worse after the cameras went down.”

She added that it became “really hard” for her to try to navigate through their issues.

“It definitely can be challenging,” Brittany continued, noting that there is still “love” between her and Jax. “I still love Jax very much, but he is a hard person to deal with, and I think everybody in the world knows that.”
