It’s time for him to mark a special occasion!
It’s been far too long since Frisco Jones paid his former General Hospital flame and daughter a visit (does he even know he has three grandchildren?) or Nick Marone has been in storylines at The Bold and the Beautiful, but actor Jack Wagner certainly has a reason to mark this special day.
Happy Birthday, Jack Wagner
That’s because he was born on October 3, 1959, in Washington, Missouri, which means that this talented performer is turning 64 years old today! Wagner’s entry into the performing arts world was a bit of a fluke.
Desperate for a scholarship to underwrite his time at the University of Arizona, he tried out for the golf team and auditioned for the drama department. He didn’t get accepted by the former, but the latter offered him a full ride.
Wagner scored his first on-camera role in 1982 when he won the part of Clint Masterson on the adult primetime soap opera A New Day In Eden, created by Douglas Marland for the Showtime network.
In 1984, Wagner was hired at ABC’s General Hospital and debuted as Frisco Jones. Frisco quickly became a fan favorite, especially after he was paired opposite Kristina Wagner’s (nee Malandro) Felicia Cummings.
Frisco and Felicia emerged as one of daytime television’s most popular super couples, and the on-screen romance spilled over into real life, resulting in a love affair and marriage between Wagner and Malandro. The union would last for over a decade.
Wagner remained with General Hospital — off and on — until 1995, but from 1991-93, he appeared exclusively on NBC’s Santa Barbara, playing the part of Warren Lockridge, where he was paired with Sydney Penny (B.J. Walker)
In 1994, Wagner began his first of many collaborations with uber-producer Aaron Spelling. He first played Dr. Peter Burns on Melrose Place, then headlined a new serial entitled Titans. For his last Spelling project, Wagner briefly appeared in the daytime soap opera Sunset Beach. He then made waves as Nick Marone on B&B. Since 2014, he has had a role in When Calls the Heart.
