Filipino drag queen Eva Le Queen had a strong showing in the pilot week of “RuPaul’s Drag Race: Global All Stars” on Friday.

In the show’s split premiere, the 12 international queens were halved into two groups, and were tasked to perform in a talent show each. Eva was assigned in the second group with Pythia of Canada, Nehellenia of Italy, Tessa Testicle of Germany, Gala Valaro of Mexico, and Vanity Vain of Sweden.

In the second episode, Eva shared what Filipino drag is all about.

“What makes Filipino drag unique is that we always do things with heart,” Eva said. “Our closing line is always ‘puso, puso, at puso pa rin.’ It’s always ‘heart, heart, heart in all ways.'”

For her talent show, Eva performed a comedic skit of cooking rice with a rice cooker, and then her turning into a dragon slayer.

With the talent performance and her “Money Makes the World Go Round” runway that earned praises from resident judges Michelle Visage, Jamal Sims, and RuPaul herself, Eva was able to make it to the top two and battle Vanity Vain in a lip sync for the win, with Vanity winning the round.

At the “Global Domin-Asian” viewing party at Tanghalang Pasigueño Friday night, Eva said that her performance wasn’t a one-man effort.

“It was a brainstorming lang talaga ng mga baklaan,” she said. “I had fun. I guess that’s what drag is and that’s what translated to everyone. That’s how crazy we are as Filipinos. We have a twisted sense of humor and I’m glad you guys loved it.”

“I think what it [RuPaul calling her performance ‘fantastic’] did to me was that it validated that I am present, and my drag… it’s not the same as what people call ‘entertaining,’ but I am my own artist,” Eva added. “And I have finally arrived in the motherf*cking global stage! And RuPaul said that. No one can take that away from me.”

Eva was a finalist in Season 1 of “Drag Race Philippines,” where Precious Paula Nicole was hailed as the first Drag Superstar. The show is now in its third season, with Captivating Katkat winning Season 2.

The first episode of “RuPaul’s Drag Race: Global All Stars” is free to watch on the WOWPresents YouTube channel, while episode 2 and the succeeding episodes air every Friday at the WOWPresents Plus. “Drag Race Philippines” season 3 airs Wednesdays.
