Farmers Wants A Wife 2024 contestants will be among those at this year’s Aggies Race Day, with Farmer Todd Melbourne and his partner Daisy Lamb to present the Fashions on the Field.

The idea to bring the reality television stars to Wagga for the epic race day was the brainchild of Murrumbidgee Turf Club publicity officer Jemima Lyons.

“I thought it would be great to have this year’s contestants come to one of the biggest country race days in NSW,” she said.

“I thought it fit the occasion.”

After listening to her peers at Charles Sturt University talking about the series, it was like a light-bulb moment for Miss Lyons.

“I study out at the university and everyone out here talks about it so I thought it would bring a bit of fun to the day,” she said.

“Daisy and Todd will be presenting the Fashions on the Fields.

“They will be on stage and they’re super approachable and more than happy to take pictures.”

Farmer Dustin Manwaring and partner Sophie Trethowan will also make an appearance and there is a chance, although not yet confirmed, a few of the single contestants might also be there on the day.

Miss Lamb said it will be her first time visiting Wagga and attending the r ace day.

“I’ve passed through Wagga before, but I haven’t been stopped there,” she said.

“Todd and I are excited to be a part of it.”

Being from small country towns themselves, the lovers will feel right at home at Wagga.

“We really love having the opportunity to use the momentum we have built through Farmer Wants a Wife to give back to small country town communities,” Miss Lamb said.

While Mr Melbourne is more on the reserved side, Miss Lamb said she was looking forward to seeing everyone on the day, having a chat and taking as many pictures as possible.

“I’m excited,” she said.

“Before we got asked to present the Fashions on the Field I was going to take part in it, being from a small country town myself you don’t get to dress up often.”

The Aggies Race Day is a collaborative event by the MTC and the Wagga Agriculture Club (WAC) which began in 1989 to raise money for friend and fellow student Peter Worsley, who sustained spinal injuries from a rugby incident.

Since then, the Wagga Agriculture Club has raised numerous funds for Peter and the wider WAC community.
