Jon Lindstrom Pays Tribute to Robert Miller

Lindstrom said the following about Robert on Instagram after learning of his passing:

“I’m really sorry to hear of the legendary Bob Miller’s demise. As a talented costume designer, Bob even created Kevin Collins’ appearance on General Hospital. That Kevin would never wear a white shirt—still uncommon today—was, I think, Bob’s idea.

He went on to talk about Bob’s partner, Steve Howard, with whom he had a close working relationship. The show even created a fictitious character named Bob Steve, who is responsible for dressing up Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) for the Nurses’ Ball.

Users took to Instagram to give their condolences. One person said, “This is so very sad. Bob was such a very talented man. Deepest condolences to the GH cast, his family, and friends.”

Another person commented,

“He almost designed my wedding dress. A great talent and human being.”

Someone remarked,

“He sounds legendary and so talented. May he rest in peace.”

GH fans are noticing an alarming trend of those members of the GH family passing on. This year has been challenging for the soap. First, it was Sonya Eddy, who played the outspoken head nurse, Epiphany Johnson. She passed in December 2022.

This was followed by Jackie Zeman, who played Bobbie Spencer, who died in May of this year. Billy Miller, who played Jason Morgan and Drew Cain, tragically committed suicide in September—Tyler Christopher, who played Nikolas Cassadine in October, and now Robert Miller.

Bob Miller’s Costume Designs

Bob Miller got his start on General Hospital in 1984 and left the show in 1989. He left for three years and returned in 1992. He remained with the show until 2006.

Miller earned ten Daytime Emmy Award nominations for Costume Design and won the award five times.

In a rare interview Robert did in 1995 for The Los Angeles Times, Robert explained his system for selecting costumes for each GH character. With daytime TV’s limited budget, he would personally shop at local department stores and boutiques in New York.

He said he would keep up with current trends by looking at fashion magazines and teen magazines. He would flip through W magazine, which displayed pictures of women dressed in gowns.

Miller was also known for personally designing beautiful gowns worn by the ladies of GH for the annual Nurses’ Ball. His favorite thing was dressing the characters and giving them their own style. He won a Daytime Emmy in 1995 for Outstanding Costume Designer for a Daytime Drama.

Robert mentioned dressing Kevin Collins in the interview. He claimed he never wore white shirts since he didn’t want his entire appearance to be overly traditional. stated Robert.

“His monochromatic, almost Armani-esque appearance is really elegant,”

Bob Miller will be missed since he had a significant role in the careers of numerous actors.
