The General Hospital recap for September 12, 2023, features Michael wanting to make a confession to Sonny but chickening out at the last minute.

General Hospital Recap Highlights

In this episode, Sonny and Michael had an emotional chat after Sonny told Nina the truth. Nina was later alarmed by news from Gladys. Cody got Sasha to a cabin as she suffered from withdrawal. And finally, Willow, Finn, and Elizabeth had to teach Violet to stay out of a couple’s business. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into the details.

The Truth Will (Not) Set Michael Free

Violet (Jophielle Love) was thrilled because the GH softball team beat Kelly’s team. The Port Charles Police Department team also came out on top of their game, and the miraculously recovered Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) was even a spectator. Willow was getting tired of people worrying about her but was happy to just do a normal recreational activity. Michael (Chad Duell) didn’t seem to care about Willow’s happiness and was instead fixated on his fears that Dex’s (Evan Hofer) Pikeman video could have done Sonny in. He was glad Willow talked him out of using the footage.

When Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Nina (Cynthia Watros) returned home from court, Nina was still shaken up by everything that happened. Nina blamed the authorities, so Sonny came clean and told her he set the whole thing up as a trap for Austin (Roger Howarth) and Mason’s (Nathayael Grey) boss. He was so proud of planting coffee beans in those crates.

Sonny wasn’t sure what Austin and Mason’s boss would do with the phony intel he planted but was willing to risk the chance of being detained for a few days to get his plan to work. Sonny still wondered if Nina could handle his life, and Nina said she felt no regrets.

Both Sonny and Nina were surprised when Michael paid a visit to offer his support and tell Sonny how sorry he was for the last year and a half of anger. He almost told him everything about Dex but left that part out as he cried that he didn’t want his father to go to prison.

Back at Charlie’s, Violet was worried that Jake (Hudson West) seemed to be missing until he walked into Charlie’s with Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez). Liz was intrigued to see them together as Violet teased Jake for being on a date. It was Willow who had to explain to Violet that you don’t interrupt two people on their first date.

Saving Poor Sasha

Kristina (Kate Mansi), Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), Sam (Kelly Monaco), and Chase (Josh Swickard) also gathered at Charlie’s. They were amazed and relieved that Sonny managed to skate on serious federal charges. At least Chase knew something wasn’t adding up. Soon, Dante, Sam, and Chase were distracted by news about Sasha (Sofia Mattsson). Once home, Dante immediately accused Sam of knowing exactly what Cody (Josh Kelly) was going to do next, and she couldn’t deny it.

Soon after Michael arrived at Sonny’s, Nina got an SOS text from Gladys (Bonnie Burroughs), so she rushed downstairs to find a frantic Gladys telling her that Sasha had been kidnapped. Gladys also lied and told Nina that Cody was working with Dr. Montague when he took Sasha.

Cody and Sasha made it to a remote cabin where Sasha was suffering from withdrawal symptoms. The residual drugs made Sasha imagine that Cody was Dr. Montague (Darin Toonder), and Cody had to convince her she was safe. She didn’t want to fight for her life anymore as she went through detox, but Cody told her she had to do it for Brando (Johnny Wactor) and Liam. Sasha cried that she had nobody left in the world, but Cody insisted she had him.
