Portia Robinson stays true to form as she lets loose on PC’s favorite heroine.

The General Hospital recap for September 8, 2023, features Portia doing what Portia does best — with the wrong person this time.

General Hospital Recap Highlights

Portia was not happy to see Anna visiting Curtis and let her know it. Nina and Ava discussed Curtis, Sonny, and even the castle Ava lives in. Josslyn was taken aback when Dex informed her how much Sonny really means to him. Cody managed to finally get Sasha out of Ferncliff while Eddie Maine sang a song, all thanks to Sonny. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into the details.

Portia Pulls A Portia

Anna (Finola Hughes) sat in the Metro Court restaurant and did her best to find out who owned the house she followed Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) to, but Nina (Cynthia Watros) interrupted her to see if she had any insight into what was going on with Sonny (Maurice Benard). She figured it might have something to do with the pool shooting since Anna or Sonny had to be the intended target. All that did was get Anna thinking about who actually caught that bullet, especially when Ava (Maura West) arrived and brought up Curtis’s (Donnell Turner) name.

Curtis and Portia (Brook Kerr) shared some awkward moments at home, and when she left, Curtis had more awkward moments with Marshall (Robert Gossett). He finally told his dad he was tired of everyone pussy-footing around him and wanted things to feel normal. He also wanted to spend some time alone without a babysitter. So, Marshall did just that and went to spend some time at The Savoy.

The alone time didn’t last long because Anna soon showed up. She admitted that she thought the bullet was meant for her, and she wanted to apologize for what happened to him. Curtis assured her what happened was not her fault. He was angry at Anna and Sonny at first, but quickly got over it. After all, he was a cop and understood that things like this happen.

Portia walked in on the chat but was not happy to learn that Marshall had left Curtis alone. As Portia tends to do, she was all sweetness and light with Anna in front of Curtis, but outside, the act was over as she took Anna to task for having the nerve to stop by. While Curtis didn’t blame Anna and Sonny for what happened to him, Portia sure did and let Anna know it. By the end of the conversation, poor Anna was in tears. As for Curtis? Well, he vowed to find whoever did this to him.

All About Sonny

Once Anna had left the Metro Court, Ava, and Nina discussed the Sonny situation. Ava tried to give Nina some friendly advice and warned her that even if Sonny beat these charges, there would always be another crisis because this was the life Sonny chose for himself. Ava also brought up Nina’s last walk down the aisle with a lying Valentin, but Nina insisted that Sonny doesn’t ever lie to her. That nearly caused Ava to choke on her martini.

The subject then turned to Ava’s desire to sell Spoon Island and Wyndemere. She even suggested that Sonny could buy it if he ever finds his freedom again.

Joss (Eden McCoy) and Dex (Evan Hofer) met on the docks so Dex could have a pity party about throwing that flash drive in a public trash can. He felt Sonny could spend his life behind bars all because of him, but Joss couldn’t see why that upset him so much. She tried to assure him that Sonny’s arrest wasn’t his fault, but he didn’t want to hear it.

When Dex asked how he could be so careless with Sonny’s freedom, Joss claimed it was all because of her. After all, she had tried to convince him to use the Pikeman recording to bring Sonny down and even wanted to use it herself. She thought she could help Carly out of the SEC mess and help Dex break free of Sonny. She finally told him to stop beating himself up about what happened to Sonny, considering that Sonny did commit the crime.

Joss was a bit alarmed to learn that Dex thought of Sonny as a father figure now. He even felt there would be a hole in his life if Sonny ended up behind bars for the long haul. He was aware that Sonny was a criminal, but Dex felt Sonny had more integrity and principles than people who flawlessly obeyed the law. Sonny even taught Dex what it means to be a man.

Music And Mayhem

When Dr. Montague (Darin Toonder) walked into Sasha’s (Sofia Mattsson) room, Cody (Josh Kelly) immediately knew what was going on with Sasha since he recognized him from Selina’s (Lydia Look) poker games. Montague tried to play innocent, but Cody wasn’t buying it. Sasha tried to piece together everything Cody was saying as he mentioned Gladys (Bonnie Burroughs), Selina, a poker game, and Sasha’s money. When Montague told Cody he was going to get security, Cody lunged for him and a fight ensued, confusing Sasha some more.

The next thing we knew, Dr. Montague was lying in a corner tied up and gagged, wearing just his underwear, as Cody wore his clothes and slipped out of Ferncliff with Sasha. Cody even had a getaway car waiting, all thanks to Sam (Kelly Monaco).

Neddie (Wally Kurth), Olivia (Lisa LoCicero), and Leo (Easton Rocket Sweda) arrived at a recording studio Sonny set up for them. However, Neddie was disappointed to hear Sonny couldn’t make it. However, when it came time to sing a song he wrote, he did not have the lyrics in his head yet. When he started playing guitar, things got better, and Leo seemed to be enjoying himself more than anyone else. Finally, Eddie got it right as he gave us a musical montage ending that soaps have been missing.
