General Hospital Spoilers: Are They De-Aging Michael Mentally Or Just Making Him Insane?

Spoilers for General Hospital We’ve never been afraid to voice our opinions on Michael Corinthos’s (Chad Duell) absurd need for vengeance for his injured feelings, and we’re relieved that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) finally called him on it and pushed him to tell everyone.

Something about the Spencer ancestry makes them unable to let go of anything and driven to exact revenge. Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) has never taken responsibility for the continuation of their animosity and has received forgiveness from her Cult of Carly.

But she’s tried to move on and even Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) is doing so reluctantly. But not Michael. At this point, he’s nothing more than a spoiled brat who doesn’t like getting his way.

This has got us wondering are the writers de-aging him mentally to being a teenager again, or is this just a weak, lazy way to keep the suspense going?

Something’s got to give at some point, and it may just be Michael’s sanity.

Losing ground

It’s clear that Michael can’t keep his anger to himself. If Nina hadn’t told Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) that their argument was over Christmas presents for Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver), Michael would have had to utter a falsehood or come clean.

She essentially spared him from having to make that decision, but rather than accepting her for who she is—as his wife consistently reminding him—he will cling to the belief that she is being arrogant toward him.

If the writers aren’t trying to de-age him, we’re curious what their point is because it’s not building any sympathy for him.

If anything, it’s making him look even more petty and childish as he fusses over not getting his way.

Hardly what one would expect out of a corporate mogul, but then he also didn’t pass on Ned Quatermaine (Wally Kurth)’s idea for them to coexist to Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison).

Nothing to gain

At this point, there is literally nothing to be gained from outing Nina’s secret except to feed his own ego.

Literally everyone in his family is happy and moved on, and ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers would like to think he’s not so selfish that he’s actually going to risk their happiness just so her gets a win.

Blaming Nina for having Sonny meet with them when it was clearly Sonny’s idea just shows how unhinged and irresponsible he is and he needs to figure out how to move on from this.

It’s bad enough he thinks Nina stole the Metro Court when she actually offered to give it to Carly in the beginning as a peace offering.

However, he is now coming to terms with the fact that he cannot control everything as he once believed he could, and this is hurting him to the point where he will try harder and might lose everything he values most in life—all except Carly and Joss.

Presuming the authors don’t want Willow Tate (Katelyn MacMullen) to accept his attempts to dominate her life and accept their inevitable forgiveness.

Will it be worth it for Michael to ruin his family’s happiness in order to exact retribution, or should he learn to go on? Please share your thoughts in the comments section below, and return often to ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers for the most recent rumors, spoilers, and news.
