General Hospital spoilers and updates tease Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) is plotting some twisted revenge. He plans to hit Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and the Corinthos clan hard, plus any close friends!
Cyrus Renault Wasn’t Happy
While Cyrus was cleaning up after Sonny visited him at the Port Charles Grille, it was clear that he wasn’t pleased with the visit.
Although he had informed Laura Collins (Genie Francis) that he had been employed for a dishwasher position, it is clear that they are utilizing him for a variety of tasks.
In addition to Sonny making a bit of a scene, Cyrus didn’t need the embarrassment in front of some of the restaurant’s clients and potentially his new boss.
Sonny ordered him to stay in his lane or face consequences—he would take Cyrus down—while acting arrogant and entitled.
Cyrus is playing a redemption act but he didn’t work hard to gain his freedom to spend his time washing dishes and scrubbing floors.
Retaliation Earned
Cyrus is still a mob boss and criminal at heart and a brazen public display like Sonny made earns him some retaliation!
Sonny gloated about Cyrus falling into the trap Sonny had laid and his failure to land Sonny in a federal prison for racketeering charges.
Cyrus doesn’t like to lose and Sonny’s tricks embarrassed him to the Pentonville warden, who he was working with to take Sonny down, and he was reamed out.
It’s pretty plain to see Cyrus isn’t as reformed as he claims to be, and behind his “redeemed” exterior the heart of a vengeful mobster still beats.
It’s only a matter of time before the real Cyrus comes out to wreak havoc on Sonny, his family, and friends, and his revenge will be brutal!
Trying Again
Cyrus might try something else, another setup to put Sonny in prison, or maybe just wipe him off the map entirely, putting Sonny and his loved ones in extreme danger.
He may have his enforcer, Dex Heller (Evan Hofer), and his goons, Frank (Frank Lyon), but as Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) just pointed out, he’s no Jason Morgan (Steve Burton).
Carly was concerned about Sonny’s safety because he didn’t have Jason to watch out for him and his family anymore, even if Brick (Stephen A. Smith) can occasionally forecast danger.
Like Mason Gatlin (Nathaniel Grey), Sonny might be experiencing a crisis in the hospital, or worse, he might end up bleeding out on his own like Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth). No matter how cautious or how many bodyguards Sonny has, Cyrus could exact a lethal amount of retribution!
