Spoilers for General Hospital hint that the immensely adored but criminally crazy Port Charles resident Heather Webber (Alley Mills) will undergo significant changes following her hip replacement. As viewers are aware, cobalt toxicity was just diagnosed in Heather. Behavioral abnormalities are one of the recognized negative effects of cobalt poisoning.
Heather is having trouble recalling how long ago her first hip replacement was completed. However, that seems to have been the root of both her health problems and at least part of her psychological problems.
Heather Webber Was The Hook!
Heather’s behavior for the past several years has been getting worse every time she returns to Port Charles. She even became the serial killer known as “The Hook” in order to get revenge on the people Heather believed brought harm to her daughter Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl).
Even more recently, she threated to kill Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) with a surgical saw she found just laying around the hospital.
If these behaviors were caused by the cobalt poisoning, she may be able to worm her way out of going back to prison.
Cyrus Renault Is Also Looking For Redemption!
Meanwhile, Cyrus himself is trying to make up for his past sins. For a while it seemed as though he might be faking his newfound religious side in order to fool his sister Laura Collins (Genie Francis) and the rest of Port Charles.
It may even have started out that way, but in recent weeks Cyrus appears to have really changed. But like Heather, he has a lot to make up for.
He terrorized Port Charles a few years back before his last arrest. He was bringing drugs into the city through General Hospital.
He also caused Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) to overdose and almost die in addition to holding Portia Robinson (Brooke Kerr) and Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) hostage.
Are Cyrus Renault And Heather Webber Capable Of Love?
Now that the cause of the cobalt poisoning has been eliminated, maybe Cyrus will discover a kindred spirit in Heather, even though they have previously been bitter adversaries. This strange duo may discover romance as they attempt to move past their pasts.
If this couple discovered love as well as atonement, Port Charles would undoubtedly be shocked. Would anyone in Port Charles, though, really take them seriously?
Given everything they’ve done, they may not be able to receive enough forgiveness and have a lot of unfinished business to settle.
What Do You Think?
How far back has the cobalt poisoning been altering Heather’s mind? Is Cyrus really on the road to redemption? Could Heather and Cyrus actually find romance as they put the past behind them?
