The latest Sam scenes were just as hard to watch as they were to play.

Nancy Lee Grahn teased her scenes following Sam’s death on the October 31, 2024 episode of General Hospital, warning viewers they would be “hard to watch.”

Alexis Mourns

It was anything but a happy Halloween on the October 31 episode as Portia (Brook Kerr) delicately broke the news of Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) to Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and Jason (Steve Burton). At first, Alexis assured the doctors they were wrong and that Sam was fine, but once she walked into the hospital room and saw her cold, still daughter, reality began to settle in.

Alexis demanded Portia get a blanket for Sam because she was cold, then proceeded to lie beside her daughter in bed and think back on the moment she was born. She later looked up to the ceiling and went off, asking why Sam was taken and not her.

“As hard as it may be for #gh viewers to watch today’s episodes and the episodes to follow, it was equally as hard for me and my casemates to play,” the actress admitted. “Playing Kelly Monaco’s mom has been effortless and the love is real,” she finished, ending her statement with a blue heart emoji.

The actress typically uses her X platform to share thoughts and opinions on GH, the entertainment industry, politics, and more. Grahn has played Monaco’s on-screen mother for nearly the entire 21 years Monaco portrayed Sam.
