Spoilers for General Hospital Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) is upset with good reason. Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), her ex-husband, is preparing to marry her archenemy, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros). Nina hasn’t done enough harm to the people Sonny cares about for him to see through her at this point.
Evidently not. Fans are guessing that the happy couple’s wedding day will not take place. It might coincide with the SEC inquiry at just the right time, allowing Carly to be Nina’s undoing. The trouble is that she’ll delight in it a little too much, forcing Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) to question her true objectives and where her devotion truly rests.
Diane Miller Isn’t Enough
The SEC’s investigation into Carly and Drew is still underway, and they’ll be battling for their freedom in court shortly, all because of Nina. It will be difficult to mount a defense against the allegations, and with Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) now defending both Carly and Drew, it is evident that one of them will need to find another attorney. It’s a significant conflict of interest for her to take both of their cases to court, and she’s already warned them that they’ll almost certainly have to roll over on each other to get out of this. Drew and Carly are still considering their options, but things aren’t looking well for their relationship.
Reveal Marty Grey Rings The Alarm
Along the way, either Drew or Carly will need to lawyer up with someone else. There aren’t many options they trust in this mini metropolis, and we already know Kin Shriner (Scotty Baldwin) is leaving GH soon. (So sad). So it stands to reason that with Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) still climbing the ranks as an editor since she lost her bar license, Martin ‘Marty’ Grey (Michael E. Knight) will be the only attorney they trust to work with Diane and bring this case to its closure. It’s too bad he also has a conflict of interest and can’t take the case. No one but the SEC and Nina know that Marty was the pivotal player in unleashing this mess, and it’ll stay that way for a time because he’s protected by his ethical code and cannot divulge what the conflict of interest is. But that won’t stop Diane from digging in her heels and trying to figure it out.
Drew Cain Can’t Shake This Feeling
As Diane unravels that mystery and puts together the pieces that point the finger at Marty being involved in the SEC report, she reasons that one of his clients must have been the one to tattle to the feds. It won’t be long before the truth comes out about Nina, and Carly is going to race to let Sonny know — enjoying every minute of it. Little does she know, Nina’s downfall will be her own at the same time. Drew won’t be able to stomach the way Carly delights in doing Nina in — and it won’t be about her getting revenge or sticking it to her for reporting them. It’s clear that for Carly, it will be entirely about making sure Sonny doesn’t marry someone else. Is this the end for Carly and Drew? What say you?
