The return of Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) to Port Charles has stirred General Hospital spoilers, and it will be interesting to watch how he responds to how much has changed since he was thought to be dead.
One of options is how the authors plan to describe his whereabouts during the past year and a half, ever since he was buried in the cave during their attempt to flee Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy).
One theory is that he dug himself out but either had amnesia (a popular theory for the show right now) or was so weak that someone found him and cared for him until he recovered enough to go back.
Or more likely, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) will find him in Amsterdam when she and Felichia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) go there to solve a mystery involving Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman), which could play up the amnesia angle.
Given the writer’s habits, we expect it to be a quick and clean explanation and recovering, and that’ll mean he’ll be able to adjust to the new life of Port Charles.
Everyone’s anchor
One thing that will happen early on, assuming Jason will be up for it, is resuming his role in Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard)’s organization.
He may not return fully to being Sonny’s go to guy, but he’ll be a good sounding board for Sonny in the business and his life, and Jason could be the one to calm Sonny down enough he’ll reconcile with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) or at least forgive her.
He’ll also make Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) question her recent decision to be with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), since many, including ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers, think she’s only with him because he’s Jason’s twin.
Dex’s father?
There’s an fun fan theory that Jason is Dex Heller (Evan Hofer)’s father, and that explains why they look so similar and have similar mannerisms.
Given Dex has opened up about what his homelife was as a kid, it could mean that they’re either trying to disqualify the rumors or they’ll set up a storyline where Dex was adopted.
Or his mom wanted to protect him from the life Jason had in Port Charles as Sonny’s enforcer and chose a different father figure that didn’t work out.
There are so many possibilities the writers could explore here, we’re looking forward to seeing what they come up with or if they’ll skip over it completely.
