Congratulations to the GH star on her award.

General Hospital star Cassandra James, who plays Dr. Terry Randolph on the ABC soap, was on hand in Houston recently to accept the Visibility Award from the Human Rights Campaign. In her moving acceptance speech, she said things that everyone needs to hear.

Cassandra James Speaks From The Heart

“I’m a community center kid from reading programs as a child to dance classes and theater camps all the way to Toronto,” she began. The star was on hand to accept the Visibility Award at their 2023 HRC Houston Dinner. “And there I found myself walking to a little support group every Thursday evening where I spent quality time with people like me.

“We live in a renaissance of disconnection a time when technology and capitalism have so terrifyingly warped the ego that we have lost all sense of empathy. I think of those trans kids and countless others clinging desperately to any sense of community in a time that feels to me like a war.

“Some people want us to be eradicated because we represent possibility, freedom to any trans person listening. Stay strong, keep going, build a steel rod of self-love in yourself, and know that you are worthy of this amazing accident called life. It’s yours, and you are made of love and light. I love you.”
