GH’s Tabyana Ali understands the passion #Sprina fans have on social media.

It’s safe to say that #Sprina, the hashtag for the General Hospital supercouple comprised of Spencer, played by Nicholas Alexander Chavez, and Trina, played by Tabyana Ali, is one of the most talked about subjects on soap opera social media. Ali recently shared her thoughts on how she processes the passionate fan base she and Chavez share.

Tabyana Ali: When Will #Sprina Be Happy?

“It is very flattering to have people care about you and your character in that way and to know that they just want you to be happy,” Ali shared during a Zoom gathering with fans hosted by Coastal Entertainment. However, Ali — along with soap fans — knows that an essential element of drama is conflict.

“Life is like that…life has a lot of conflict,” the actress points out. “You have expectations of what you might want to [have] happen, and then, life happens, you know? It’s not always as cute and clean as you think it might be.”

#Sprina Forever

Ali says, of course, “I want Spencer and Trina to be together. I want them to be happy, as well. They haven’t had the chance to just sit up and be giddy and cute [together].”

Spencer’s devotion to his baby brother Ace and the ongoing presence of Ace’s mom, Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl), are reminders, Ali says, that life can show you “sometimes you’re not going to get [what you want] right now.”

Tabyana Ali: Keep the Faith

Ali hastens to point out that #Sprina not being together now doesn’t mean it won’t happen eventually. “Life happens, and life always brings some goodness, some happiness, some joy, some love, [and] some care,” she says. While some feel the good and bad in life is an even split, Ali suggests that positivity has a slight edge. “Life is 49% negative and 51% positive,” she offers. “Positivity always beats negativity. So, that’s what I’ll say to the audience — that you will get your time to see the sunshine and the love and the care.”
