The Home and Away actress, 47, and her ex-husband Chrys Xipolitas lost their son Harrison when he was delivered stillborn eight months into her pregnancy in 2014.

Ada is approaching the 10-year anniversary of the devastating loss on August 7, and has bravely reflected on the ‘really scary’ time in her life in a wide-ranging interview.

Speaking to Tiffiny Hall on the Bounce Forward podcast, Ada said losing Harrison was the ‘lowest time’ of her life and that she felt ‘detached’ from reality at the time.

‘That was definitely the lowest time in my life. That was a really scary time, when you’re out-of-body, people are saying stuff – I don’t really actually remember it that well, I just remember being very detached,’ she shared.

‘I couldn’t believe it was happening to me, it was like this weird movie that you can’t get out of. It was a horror film. It took me a long time, I don’t think you ever get over it.’

Ada revealed her older son Johnas, who was two years old at the time, got her through the tough period and gave her the ‘courage’ to wake up every day.

‘I think what got me through is Johnas to be honest, I had a two-year-old I had to look after,’ she shared.

‘I did sort of talk to him about it and I still do to this day. He gave me the courage to wake up every day and keep moving forward.

Ada went on to discuss the upcoming 10th anniversary of Harrison’s passing and shared how her grief has changed over the years.

‘Harrison’s anniversary is coming up soon, and the lead-up is always a little bit difficult and then on the day, I don’t know, it changes every year,’ she said.

Ada and her ex-husband Chrys first discovered they’d fallen pregnant with Harrison in 2014.

The pair announced the news of their second pregnancy in March of that year during an interview with New Idea.

But months later, the couple shared the heartbreaking news that Harrison was delivered stillborn on August 7, 2014.

Earlier, Ada had suffered a miscarriage before welcoming their now-12-year-old son Johnas in 2012 through IVF.

In late 2015, Ada and Chrys called time on their nine-year marriage and publicly confirmed news of their split just months later.

Ada went on to date millionaire businessman Adam Rigby but the couple went their separate ways just before Christmas last year after eight years together.

She has since found love again with her Home and Away co-star James Stewart, with news of their romance emerging when they were seen kissing on Anzac Day.

The pair have known each other since 1998 when they co-starred on the short-lived Channel Ten soap opera Breakers and have both been staples on Home and Away since 2016.

Ada described her blossoming romance with James as ‘unexpected’ as she broke her silence on their relationship last week.

‘Jimmy and I are together, yes. It’s only early days. It’s very recent and very unexpected. I’m super happy. It’s really lovely,’ she told Stellar Magazine.

The wedding episode aired on April 9 but was filmed around six months earlier, with Ada insisting their ‘genuine feelings’ only emerged later.

‘There weren’t genuine feelings then,’ she explained. ‘It was shot last year. But I think whenever you’re watching any TV couple, you’re always wondering if they really do have feelings.’

The couple began dating after Ada split from Adam Rigby and James finalised his divorce from Sarah Roberts in March.

Sources have claimed the pair are planning their much-anticipated relationship red carpet ‘hard launch’ at the 2024 Logie Awards on August 18.
