The Valley cast member is fully embracing all of the beauty that summer has to offer in his own backyard.
Jax Taylor is doing his best as a dad to 3-year-old son, Cruz Cauchi, amid his current separation from wife, Brittany Cartwright.
The Valley cast members have been open about their dedication to co-parenting their son as they work out their issues as a couple. As they’re doing this, Jax gave his Instagram followers a look at his life as a co-parent while showing off his gorgeous pool at the house he formerly shared with Brittany. Although Brittany has since moved out of their San Fernando Valley home, the pool is still getting plenty of use.
Inside Jax Taylor and son Cruz Cauchi’s “pool days”
Jax took to his Instagram Story on June 19, where he posted two sweet and serene photos of Cruz swimming in the pool at dusk. In the first photo, Cruz can be seen lounging in the water by their cabana as the outdoor lights and pool lights illuminate the little boy. In the second, Jax holds Cruz in the water while kissing his cheek.
Jax revealed in the photos that his decision to go swimming after sunset with his son was based on his childhood. “[I] used to love when my parents let us kids night swim in the summer,” he wrote over the first photo.
“Pool days…” Jax wrote over the second. But it should be “pool nights” since that is exactly what these photos capture.
Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s backyard in their home in the Valley
Jax and Brittany’s pool might look so peaceful at night, but it is even better in the daytime. The 4,600-square-foot-home boasts seven bedrooms and a beautiful kitchen, but their backyard might be one of the best places in their home. The yard features an in-ground pool, pool house, outdoor bar, grilling area, and play area for Cruz.
“We entertain a lot, and our backyard’s set up for entertaining, and everyone comes over here and gathers in the pool house and plays in the pool,” Jax said in a video tour of their home, as seen above.
In the video, Jax explained that the pool house is actually one of his favorite spots in his home. “I kind of come out here when I want to get away from everybody,” Jax explained. “I just come out here and watch the game on the swing.”
Jax Taylor said he can’t leave his San Fernando Valley home
During a May 31 episode of their podcast, When Reality Hits with Jax and Brittany, Jax explained why he has chosen to stay in their home while Brittany has moved out. “I know I said we would never, ever, leave each other, but it got to the point where she had to go,” he explained.
“Everyone’s like, ‘Well, how come you didn’t leave?'” he continued. “I’m like, well, yeah, I pay the mortgage on my home now. I couldn’t pay the mortgage and, I don’t know, [for] two places. I can’t afford that. I can’t afford a mortgage and an apartment.”
