NCIS: Hawaii wrapped up its sophomore season with a big surprise addition to its cast. What does this mean for Season 3, and what can fans expect? Find out the latest news here!
The Season 2 finale had Jane Tennant in Venezuela tracking Creel, the man she believed had been dead for years but now coming after her and former mentor Maggie. Creel had already killed Charlie-1, with Kate coming to aid Jane.
The pair came under fire only to be saved by none other than NCIS: Los Angeles agent Sama Hanna (LL Cool J), paying back Tennant for some help. To try and capture Creel, Jane was forced to let Maggie out of prison for a sting operation. It turned out to be a daring move by Jane to trap Creel. However, Maggie ended up shooting him dead before escaping.
The team celebrated together while internal affairs agent Swift (Henry Ian Cusick) was on the phone telling someone that the team was good but also needed more oversight. He decided the team needed a new addition, and “I have someone in mind.”
Is NCIS: Hawaii’s cast expanding?
There’s no word on any cast members leaving, so it’s likely the core cast of NCIS: Hawaii remains unchanged. The big news is the confirmation that LL Cool J will, in fact, be a recurring guest star as Sam Hana. There’s no word yet on how many episodes he’ll appear in, but this status should be a great move for NCIS: Los Angeles fans to see Sam continue in the franchise.
It’s also possible that Cusick might return as Swift. The actor is famous for roles like Lost, so having him for only a guest appearance seems off. Having him stick around as a thorn in the team’s side could be a fun touch.
When does NCIS: Hawaii Season 3 premiere?
So far, CBS has not put up any premiere dates for their fall schedule. An issue is the ongoing Writers’ Guild of America strike that may delay some shows. That might mean NCIS: Hawaii Season 3 won’t premiere until later in the fall or even possibly 2024.
For now, the show is still set for a fall premiere date, as it all depends on how long the WGA strike continues. At least when it returns, fans can expect a big addition to NCIS: Hawaii to make it an even more fantastic show.
NCIS: Hawaii Season 2 is streaming on Paramount+.
