Although NCIS Los Angeles is getting close to its series finale, fans may have goodbye to Rountree sooner than expected after he hints at moving down south.

NCIS Los Angeles’ dreaded season 14 finale will take place in May and mark the end of the long-running NCIS spin-off.

Although fans have shared their sadness about the show’s conclusion many are eager to see how NCIS LA will conclude the lives of the beloved agents.

While there are still a few weeks until the finale, the promo clip for episode 18 provided a major clue about agent Devin Rountree’s (played by Caleb Castille) future.

During the tense teaser, he and agent Sam Hanna (LL Cool J) arrived at a quiet neighbourhood, where there was a house for sale.

After picking up a flyer, Rountree stated: “I could see myself living in this neighbourhood, nice front yard and it’s close to work.”

Speaking on the value of the homes, Sam replied: “And it will set you back a million.”

As he looked closer at the leaflet for confirmation, Rountree said: “Damn, maybe I should start shopping in Texas.”

This could potentially hint at Rountree leaving his Los Angeles home earlier than expected to settle down in Texas.

But before they could discuss the process of moving Sam spotted a car and remarked: “Looks like Dr Winchester’s office was right, she’s working from home today.”

However, as they got closer to the house, they realised the door was left ajar, so they approached gingerly with their guns drawn.

Sam announced: “Dr Winchester, we’re federal agents, everything okay in there?

As there was no response, they burst into the house and made their way into the living room, only for Rountree to be pushed to the ground by a gun-wielding assailant.

They continue to chase the criminal out the back door and spot Dr Winchester being pushed into the back of a van by two other men.

The gunman tries to fight off Sam and Rountree by shooting shots in their direction but they ricocheted off the trash can the agents were using as shelter.

Luckily Rountree was able to shoot the assailant in the arm and as a result, the men drove off leaving him to run after the vehicle.

As Rountree chased after the man, the criminal was hit by a speeding car just as he reached the main road.

The agents watched in shock as his body fell to the ground, as a result, Sam quipped: “I think the prices in this neighbourhood might’ve just dropped.”

NCIS Los Angeles season 14 continues Sundays on CBS in the USA and Sky Max in the UK.
