‘Why are we here, do you want us here, are we just wasting our time?’

A shock moment on Tuesday night’s episode of Farmer Wants a Wife left only one hopeful standing at the end.

After a tense dinnertime conversation with Teegan, Brittany and Bella, Farmer Dean spent a night away from the farm to clear his head.

Paralegal Tiffany had confronted him about his obvious connection with Teegan, asking him if he genuinely wanted to spend any time getting to know her or Bella.

Feeling “torn up” about having to choose between three ladies, Farmer Dean decided to take a break to weigh up his options.

“The best choice for me was just to get away from the farm for the night and just think on my own and try to get my head on the right track again,” he explained in a voiceover.

“I’ve got three beautiful ladies there, all trying to find love, and I am feeling very torn.

“I’ve got to be careful with the choice I make, because I don’t want to make the wrong choice.”

After Dean’s disappearance Bella, Teegan and Tiffany remained back at the farm, feeling confused and unsure about where they stood with him.

“It’s not the best feeling, not knowing what he’s thinking about and his decision,” Tiffany admitted.

“He clearly needed to get away and clear his head.”

Tiffany said “feelings were progressing” on her part, but she wasn’t sure how Dean felt.

Bella, 24, said Dean’s absence was “worrying”.

“We don’t know if we’re all staying, if we’re all going,” she said.

“There’s a few nerves going around and some tension in the air as well, obviously.

“There are questions to ask — why are we here, do you want us here, are we just wasting our time?”

Teegan said she felt she was falling in love with Dean.

“I’m absolutely going to fight for Dean and I do feel like we have a strong connection,” she said.

“If I’m the person there staying at the end, that’s just a big step towards the future.

“I think I am falling in love and I am feeling those feelings, and I’m definitely willing to express those and let him know that’s how I feel.”

When Dean came back to the farm the next morning, his mind was well and truly made up.

Firstly, he took Bella aside.

“After seeing you crying the other night, it really made me think … I don’t want to hurt you anymore,” he told her.

“That’s not what I’m here for.

“I’m here to find love, and I just don’t feel that love between me and you.

“I’m so sorry.”

Then he had a chat to Tiffany, admitting he had fallen for someone else.

Whilst Bella had kept her cool at the news, Tiffany was visibly upset, breaking down in tears.

“I’m so sorry it has to end like this,” Dean said, trying to console her.

“I just wish you gave us a bit more of a chance,” she said, wiping away tears.

“I don’t want to lead anyone on or break anyone’s heart, that’s the last thing I want to do,” he said.

After Tiffany and Bella had packed up and left, Dean took Teegan aside.

“How are you feeling?” he asked her.

“Stressed,” she answered, laughing.

“Well, I’ve got a surprise for you,” he said, looking nervous.

He then took her into a romantically-decorated barn festooned with candles and flowers.

“As soon as we locked eyes I was like, ‘whoah, she’s a stunner’, and I was so excited to meet you,” he told her.

“There’s been a massive connection between you and me from day dot, really.”

“I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t dreamt about our life on the farm and a future together and bringing kids up on the farm,” she responded.

“From the moment I set foot on the farm, it’s really just felt like home.”

“It feels like the right time to say it — Teegan, I have fallen in love with you,” Dean said, grinning widely.

“I want this journey between me and you to start.”

Teegan looked stunned and happy, fanning herself when she realised Dean had chosen her well before the show had even ended.

“I’m definitely falling for you,” she said before they shared a kiss.

Later, an ecstatic Dean said: “If you looked on top of the moon, I’m on top of it right now.”

“I don’t really know what’s to come, but hopefully someone moves to the farm and you know, get married and have kids and start the fourth generation of the farm,” he added.

“The farmer has found a wife!”
