We wish him a happy birthday!
Neither The Young and the Restless‘ Ryan McNeil nor General Hospital’s Steven Webber has a reason to celebrate. The former is dead, and the latter is currently imprisoned on a charge of murder. However, their portrayer, Scott Reeves, has a major milestone to fete.
Happy Birthday, Scott Reeves!
That’s because he was born on May 16, 1966, in Delight, Arkansas, which means that he is turning 57 years old today! Scott began his acting career playing Jake Hogansen on Days of our Lives in the late 1980s.
Subsequently, he appeared in the mini-series I Know My Name Is Kevin, as well as episodes of The Munsters Today and Teen Angel Returns, and feature film Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan and Edge of Honor.
In 1991, Scott Reeves joined the cast of The Young and the Restless in the role of Ryan McNeil. His pairing opposite Heather Tom’s Victoria Newman was extremely popular, and the two characters emerged as one of the most beloved supercouples of the 1990s.
A storyline-dictated exit saw Reeves play out a death scene — Ryan was shot and killed by an obsessive ex — and afterward, the actor could be seen in primetime programs like The King of Queens and Touched by an Angel.
Outside of his acting, Reeves is well known for his musical talents. He tours with Port Chuck, — an ’80s cover band consisting of his former GH co-stars Steve Burton, Bradford Anderson, and Brandon Barash (now DAYS’ Jake) — and Blue Country (alongside collaborator Aaron Benward).
Reeves has been married to fellow soap star Melissa Brennan Reeves since March 1990. Over the years, they added to their family — first with a daughter, Emily Taylor, and then a son, Lawrence David, and now their kids are having kids. The family currently resides in Tennessee.
