Blue Bloods has been filmed in a variety of locations throughout New York City. But one stands out for Tom Selleck, who plays Frank Reagan. He discussed a special moment on the show and how filming at a specific location broke new ground.

Tom Selleck stated that filming at the 9/11 Memorial was an honor.

The family show has hundreds of episodes. So it’s understandable that choosing a favorite episode would be difficult for the actors.

“I don’t really have a favorite episode,” Selleck said in a CBS-released video. “I’m so fond of so many people, and in that way, we’re blessed.”

He later stated that “being able to shoot at the 9/11 Memorial was special for me.” We were the first film company to accomplish this feat. It was an important and emotional show for Frank. That makes me very happy. But I’m proud of everything we’ve accomplished.”

The episode of ‘Blue Bloods’ was titled ‘The Job.’

In season 2, there is a scene called “The Job,” in which Frank attends his partner’s wake. His colleague was on disability after saving over 100 people from the North Tower on 9/11. After the rescue, he became ill.

With CBS 8, Selleck discussed the significance of filming at the actual Freedom Tower. “What we’re shooting tonight in this holy place is a scene in which Frank Regan, the New York City Police Commissioner, comes to visit the site of the attack and Ground Zero,” he explained. “It comes at a particularly emotional time for him.” This is an emotional time for us. It’s a unique opportunity to be here. We consider it an honor that they granted us permission.”

The actor discussed the significance of the new memorial. “This has a very positive aspect,” he said. “The Freedom Tower is rising.” When you’re in New York, as I am right now, you can almost see it go up. It is a testament to the country and its people that we can rebuild and move on. We believe it will be a good episode, one that we are proud of, set in a special place and time for us.”

The remaining actors discussed their favorite episodes.

The rest of the cast had an easier time choosing an episode. The pilot, according to Donnie Wahlberg, is his favorite. Bridget Moynahan, who plays Erin, said her favorite episode is the one in which she is in a car accident and begins to question her life.

The episode in which Nicky performs on stage with Henry was chosen by Sami Gayle, who plays Nicky. (Len Cariou). Marisa Ramirez, who plays Maria Baez, chose the wedding episode of Jamie (Will Estes) and Eddie (Vanessa Ray). All of those episodes were significant for the actors and their respective characters.
