Happy birthday, Lindsay Hartley!
It’s been a while since General Hospital fans saw Lindsay Hartley subbing for Kelly Monaco as Sam, but the star is mostly keeping busy directing films. Now the beloved actress has a significant milestone to celebrate.
Happy Birthday, Lindsay Hartley!
And that’s because she was born on April 17, 1978, in Palm Springs, California, which means that this much-beloved performer is turning 45 years old today! Hartley spent her youth competing in beauty pageants and pursuing a singing career — endeavors which netted her a number of accolades, including the title Young Miss America and an award from The Los Angeles Philharmonic.
She began her professional career at age 14 when she landed the role of Dorothy in the Mccallum Theater’s production of The Wizard of Oz.
In 1999, Hartley was selected to join the inaugural cast of the NBC daytime drama Passions. For the next nine years, she played the attention-starved, slightly deluded, and in love with the concept of love Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald.
Subsequently, Hartley would join two further soaps: Days of our Lives and All My Children. On the former, she was Arianna Hernandez; on the latter, she played Cara Castillo, M.D.
Ironically, Hartley was reunited with not one, but two of her former Passions co-stars during her tenure at DAYS. Galen Gering, who played Theresa’s brother Luis, performed the same duties as Rafe Hernandez, while Eric Martsolf (ex-Ethan Crane) played her love interest, Brady Black.
Hartley’s other acting credits include episodes of CSI, Smallville, and General Hospital, where she pinch-hit for then-ailing actress Kelly Monaco. Aside from her work in daytime, Hartley has become nearly synonymous with the Lifetime network.
She has had lead roles in a plethora of their made-for-TV movies, and she’s provided the script for five of them. In 2020, Hartley made her directorial debut with the thriller Mommy Is A Murderer.
Between May 1, 2004, and the summer of 2012, Hartley was married to fellow soap star Justin Hartley, whom she met on the set of Passions, where he played Fox Crane. The couple welcomed their daughter, Isabella Justice, on July 3, 2004.
