One of the fun things about some social media and phone apps is that they’ll surprise you with memories from that day in the past. And recently, Vinessa Antoine was delighted to see some pictures from her time at General Hospital where she originated the role of Jordan Ashford!

“Some memory photos came up from my ABC soap days at GH,” Antoine shared on Instagram. “Original Jordan Ashford. Feels like a lifetime ago now but what an amazing workout space for the brain of an actor. A great experience to sharpen your tools in the craft. It’s like going to the gym. Mad respect to everybody still in the soap game.”

Among the photos that Antoine included in her Instagram gallery was one of her posing with Donnell Turner (Curtis) at the ABC Winter TCA Press Tour in 2018, a shot of friends Jordan and Anna during a serious moment, a selfie with Michelle Stafford (ex-Nina), posing with Sean Blakemore (ex-Shawn) and Tequan Richmond (ex-TJ) at the 2014 GH Fan Club event, and a selfie with Laura Wright (Carly).

“Grateful for all of the moments and for the GH fans along the way,” Antoine expressed. “You guys remember when Jordan was actually undercover DEA? That’s the Jordan I liked playing.”

Antoine joined the cast of GH back in March 2014 as the newly-created character of Jordan Ashford. After she chose to exit the soap in 2018 to pursue other career opportunities, the role was recast with Briana Nicole Henry. When she opted to leave in September 2021, the character was ushered off the canvas for a while before coming back in March 2022 with actress Tanisha Harper in the role.

Antoine left General Hospital because she had been given the lead role of Marcie Diggs in the CBC drama series DIGGSTOWN, becoming the first Black Canadian woman to serve as the series’ executive producer. DIGGSTOWN ended after four seasons, and Antoine went on to play parts in shows including GINNY & GEORGIA, The Resident, Interrogation, and SO HELP ME TODD. He has also been cast in Atom Egoyan’s upcoming movie Seven Veils.

“Anyway,” Antoine concluded her post, “just sharing some pics for the lifelong GH fans who remember OG Jordan Ashford.”
