Before you know it, Jackson Montgomery will be in Port Charles! Walt Willey’s fan-favorite character from ALL MY CHILDREN was thrilled to be invited to General Hospital for a visit, and now the actor can finally reveal when his first broadcast date is!

He announced on social media that “looks like the air date for Jackson’s interactions with Port Charles folks is now Monday, July 12!” I’ll keep you informed as things change. And once more, thank you for your enthusiasm and support in relation to this.

Willey’s daytime career kicked off with small roles on soaps like THE EDGE OF NIGHT, ANOTHER WORLD, RYAN’S HOPE, and AS THE WORLD TURNS. But he hit gold when he was cast as attorney Jackson Montgomery on AMC back in 1987 and he played the character all the way through until the soap’s final episode. But this isn’t the first time that Jackson has left Pine Valley!

“You know,” Willey mused. “I was thinking… Jackson may be the most crossed-over character in ABC history! He was sent to ONE LIFE TO LIVE for some trial or another, sent to THE CITY to escort Morgan Fairchild’s character off the show (seems the two had been an item at one time) and now sent to GH for… you’ll see! Kind of exciting!”

These kinds of crossovers were more prevalent when ABC had several soap operas airing, and Willey’s GH cameo connects him to Linda Dano’s Rae Cummings character, who transferred from OLTL to AMC, GH, and PORT CHARLES back in 2000 as part of a special promotional storyline.

GH is ABC’s only remaining soap opera, therefore these crossovers are sadly rare these days. But be sure to watch on Monday, July 12, to see Willey visit Port Charles for the first time as his AMC alter ego!
