Blue Bloods, a police procedural drama TV series from CBS, was recently renewed for its 14th season, but it came at a price.
The cast and producers had to agree to a 25% pay cut in order to keep the show afloat due to the network’s decision to cut the show’s budget.
So, of course, another question arises — how much does the show’s star and executive producer Tom Selleck actually make now?
As a veteran actor with an amazing television career over the years, Tom Selleck has appeared in a wide variety of shows.
But the role that put him in the spotlight was playing private investigator Thomas Magnum in the series Magnum, P.I. (1980-1988).
Among his other notable appearances in hit TV series was Dr. Richard Burke in Friends, where he appeared in ten episodes.
His heavy involvement in Blue Bloods in 2010 led to a resounding success for the series, which lasted for 13 seasons and managed to maintain fairly positive critical and audience feedback throughout its run.
And it certainly benefited Selleck, who, according to Celebrity Net Worth, was worth $45 million by the end of 2021 and earned $200,000 per episode of the show.
Using simple math, we can say that he earned about $3,400,000 for the 13th season.
So even with the recent pay cut, we can assume that he will still get a solid amount of $150,000 per episode, which comes to about $3,000,000 for the next season, given that the average number of episodes will be around 20.
It seems that this situation will not affect Selleck’s funds as much as it seemed at first.
The story of Blue Bloods revolves around the members of the Reagan family living in New York City, most of whom are involved with law enforcement to some degree.
Tom Selleck plays Commissioner Frank Reagan, the head of the family.
Episode 17 of season 13 is scheduled to be released on April 7, 2023. The release date for season 14 has not yet been announced.
