It’s been a while since we have seen Ryan Carnes as Lucas Jones on General Hospital, but off-screen, the actor is celebrating a major (and positive) milestone.

Happy Birthday, Ryan Carnes

That’s because he was born on November 21, 1982, in Pittsfield, Illinois, which means that this talented performer is turning 41 years old today! While attending Duke University, Carnes was a drummer in the college’s marching band, which the students affectionately dubbed DUMB.

In 2003, Carnes took part in a national promotional campaign for the gaming company Nintendo and appeared in both commercials and print ads. One year later, he was cast in the role of Lucas Jones on ABC’s General Hospital and made his debut on July 8, 2004.

He remained with the program for one year before choosing to leave. In the interim, he also appeared as Justin, Andrew Van de Kamp’s secret boyfriend on Desperate Housewives, and in the LGBTQ comedy film Eating Out.

He subsequently appeared on such popular primetime series as The Closer, CSI: NY, Saving Grace, Bones, and NCIS. In 2007, he landed a two-episode role in the science fiction serial Doctor Who, and in 2009 he had the starring role in SyFy’s original miniseries The Phantom.

His other work includes roles in CSI: Miami, the NBC miniseries Blackout, the horror film Trailer Park Terror, Suicide Dolls — a film that also starred B&B star Heather Tom (Katie) — and the romantic comedy Laboda de Valentina. Carnes is also known for appearing as a principal player in two music videos: Mistake and Me Lloras.
